Kriya Associates, Inc. facilitates a variety of cross-cultural learning experiences. Each one is designed to enable participants to explore a multitude of diversity issues, both inter- and intrapersonally. The programs are delivered in group formats. One, two and multi-day programs are available.
VALUING DIFFERENCES: A CROSS-CULTURAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE
This two-day intervention is designed to engage participants in an exploration of the relationship complexities that are inherent in a multicultural society. Using an empowerment approach, participants will work at a deep level to 1) examine their own cultural beliefs; 2) understand how those beliefs either benefit or challenge them; 3) craft a vision based on this understanding and; 4) create strategies for achieving the vision.
THE ISSUE IS RACE
It has been said that until the United States deals with the issue of race, no American will ever fully achieve the American dream. This two-day experience will invite participants to engage in an authentic dialogue about race and specifically how it impacts us on an individual, group and systems level. Using an empowerment approach, participants will work at a deep level to 1) examine their own racial beliefs; 2) understand how those beliefs either help or hurt them; 3) craft a vision based on this understanding and; 4) create strategies for achieving the vision.
RECLAIMING THE CROWN:
An African-American Journey from Hurt through Healing to Harambee
This multi-day retreat is designed to engage African-Americans in a process that will help to transform our collective experience in this society from one of woundedness, victimization and pathology to one of health, power and self-love. Individually and through community, we will create a vision and a plan for moving forward.
